I love doing commissions
Commissions often peak new challenges, and its always a pleasure to see the joy in a clients response to their new pieces.
How Does it work? Just drop me an email with some details to open the lines of communication. With abstracts, its often easier to reference something that you have already seen in my shop, or even something that you have seen elsewhere that has inspired your thought process.
Please note commissions will take 2-3 weeks to complete.
Primarily I offer the following formats of calligraphy
Hanging Scroll
The format is designed for vertical display on walls. They are meant to be viewed in their entirely at once, making them ideal for showcasing bold, impactful compositions or large-scale works. Hanging scrolls were a central feature of traditional Chinese art and continue to be appreciated for their beauty and cultural significance.
Spring Festival Scroll
The format is prominently displayed during the Chinese New Year. These scrolls consist of paired vertical strips of red paper with auspicious phrases or poems written in black or gold ink. They are usually hung on both sides of doorways to express good wishes, convey blessings, and ward off evil spirits for the coming year. The scrolls are carefully selected and renewed each year.
Fan-Shaped
The format takes the shape of a traditional folding fan, which is semi-circular or oval, designed to mimic the curved surface of an actual fan, which was a common accessory in ancient China. The format is associated with refinement and scholarly elegance, as fans were often carried by literati and used in social or cultural gatherings.

Price & Payment
This is a really tricky one, but in general terms, if you find a comparable style piece in my store, and comparable complexity, your commissioned piece will be in a similar quote as I believe commissions should never be too expensive.
As for the payment, I require a non-refundable deposit of 30% the quoted price before artwork commences to cover the cost of initial supplies and materials to get the job going.
Full payment is due upon completion and prior to delivery of artwork.
